Tiger has a wonderful swing - powerful, on-plane and consistent. Others, however, actually have a techinically better swing. Watch Ernie Els swing - I don’t think anyone has a better one, which is why he is called “The Big Easy”. His swing is beautifully smooth, powerful and accurate.

He has complete control of the swing…that is why it is so great. He has actually changed his swing twice since turning pro. His swing produces predictable outcomes more times than not, he can control his ball flight better than anyother player on tour. It isn’t that he has a unique swing, just that he has unique control of his swing.

It’s his mindset and his discipline to control it. The mind is a very powerful thing and believe it or not golf is a very mental game. Once you train your muscle memory to perform the swing the same way every time through lots of practice, which many golfers do, you have to then keep things from distracting you. Although he’s in good shape, Tiger’s physic is not superior to many of his peers. Although he practices hard, his practice routines are not more superior to all others. No, what makes Tiger’s game superior is his ability to focus, to drown out all the distractions around him, and execute on all those things he’s practiced. I am convinced of this!
